Launched back in 2016, The Sun Vegas is the product of a partnership between News Group Newspapers and the Alderney-based iGaming operator VF2011. The site is licensed by both the UK Gambling Commission and the Alderney Gambling Control Commission, which is ironclad confirmation that The Sun Vegas provides a secure and fair gaming experience.

We have to give The Sun Vegas marks for its interface. It’s one of the cleanest, most straightforward casino sites out there, with huge tiles signposting every game and clear tabs pointing to categories like slots, table games and live casino titles.

When it comes to slots, you have a good range to choose from. Whether you’re into licensed slots like The Goonies, or Megaways games like Extra Juicy, there’s a lot to keep you busy. You can also find games exclusive to the site, such as The Sun Megaways. Meanwhile, the likes of blackjack and roulette are available in both RNG and live dealer formats. 

However, we’re focusing on the ongoing promotions here, so what does The Sun Vegas have in this department? Unfortunately, the answer right now is not all that much. While there is a dedicated promotions page, it features only two things at the time of writing. One is the welcome bonus of 100% up to £300. The other is the rewards scheme.

While it’s a shame there’s not more to report on this front at The Sun Vegas, there’s every chance the site will update the section to include more promos. Loyalty Points

The rewards programme at this site doesn’t have a fancy or showy name. It’s simply called The Sun Vegas Loyalty Points, and does exactly what it says on the tin.

Whenever you bet a certain amount at The Sun Vegas, the site will reward you with loyalty points. The minimum stake amount required to collect points varies between game categories. For example, you’ll get 1 point whenever you wager £10 on regular slots, and 1 point whenever you wager £9 on progressive slots. 

Your account page will keep a running tally of how many points you’ve collected. Once you’ve racked up enough, the points can start being redeemed for cash, with 100 points equating to £1. So, if you were to amass 1,500 points, you could choose to trade them in for £15. Just keep in mind that points will not be given if you’re wagering with bonus funds or working towards your wagering requirements.

How does this rewards programme stack up against the competition? Say you’re playing regular slots. You’ll need to wager £1,000 to receive 100 loyalty points. In turn, these are worth £1, so you’re effectively getting £1 cashback for every £1,000 you spend, or 0.1%. That’s really not a lot; we’ve seen other sites offer 0.5–1% cashback and upwards. That said, some sites don’t offer any cashback at all — so while this promotion certainly won’t return significant amounts, it’s still nice to have.
